D is for Death

This is one of my submissions for an alphabet book I started with some coworkers and friends. I needed some motivation to make some personal artwork and this seemed like a good start. The only rule I had for myself was that I had to do a drawing/use traditional media—nothing too graphic and polished. Not sure that I really achieved quite the look I was imagining, but it's been a long time since I used charcoal so I think I'm a little out of practice. Preliminary sketch: pencil on paper. Final artwork: charcoal on paper.
